Peace Club has long been a part of the school community, but many misconceptions surround it
Its purpose and activities. To gain clarity, I interviewed students and parents about their
understanding of the Peace Club. Their responses ranged from confusion to curiosity. This article
aims to clear up any misunderstandings and shed light on the club’s evolving mission.
What Do People Think the Peace Club Is?
Here are some of the responses I received:
"Isn’t it just about stopping fights at school? I heard they have meetings about that."
"It’s about finding peace and creating peace."
"They plant trees to give back to nature."
"It’s a place where people talk about their problems and try to achieve peace."
"I heard people go to the Peace Club when they face issues in their community, like abuse, and get assistance there."
These responses highlight the uncertainty surrounding the Peace Club’s role. However, some
people had a clearer understanding:
"It’s a club where students can express themselves, share opinions, and learn how to resolve conflicts."
"A space for relaxation and open discussions where students seek clarity on different topics."
"It’s about helping people get along, resolving conflicts, and promoting kindness."
"A space for engaging in fun, brain-stimulating activities while promoting positivity."
"It focuses on conflict resolution and encourages peace within the school."
While many assume Peace Club is solely about preventing conflict, its purpose extends far
beyond that.
A New Direction: The Birth of Wellness Society
As the club grows, its vision has expanded, prompting a name change to Wellness Society to
better reflect its diverse activities and values. While peace remains at its core, the club now
focuses on team-building, personal growth, and collaboration with other school
organisations to create a more profound impact.
The Club’s Goals:
Collaboration with Other Clubs – Partnering with groups like Interact and Impact to organise large-scale events such as charity drives and health awareness campaigns
Workshops and Events – Hosting events to help students develop vital skills like communication, leadership, and relationship-building to enhance the school environment.
Outreach Programs – Engaging in charity work, volunteer initiatives, and community support programs.
Engaging Activities – Organising game nights, outdoor adventures, and other fun yet meaningful events that contribute to student well-being.
